Sires

Foundation Rams and Rams of Influence

You can have the best females money can buy but if you don't have a ram to pair them with you just have average sheep. The sire unlocks the genetic potential of a ewe's pedigree and turns over the next generation. Before we even look at a future sire we ask about and look at their mother. We look for pedigrees that are consistent over time. Buying a "one hit wonder" as a lead sire doesn't work. They need to exhibit functionality, structure and measurables beyond themselves.

"Rocky" is the founding foundation sire at Triple S. When we decided to start breeding dorpers we wanted to start with the best stock available. We did our research and decided to hitch our wagon to Powell Ranch out of Texas. Johnny Powell has some of the best dorper stock in the country. We haven't been disappointed. "Rocky" is structurally correct in every way. He exhibits extension through his neck and shoulder and extreme depth through his middle. He blends nicely into his hind quarter. His offspring are consistent and complete.
